Hi Resident,
Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Barber, and Chief Constable, Jason Hogg, have awarded over £200,000 to organisations delivering community initiatives that support crime prevention and improve public safety.
A total of 36 community and voluntary organisations from across the Thames Valley have secured funding through the latest round of the Community Fund, helping to deliver a wide range of projects aimed at preventing crime and improving public safety.
The latest funding round attracted significant interest, with 361 applications requesting more than £2.5 million in support. Following a competitive assessment process, organisations were awarded grants ranging from £1,371 to £10,000.
Money for the fund, which is jointly managed by the PCC and the Chief Constable, is created from the proceeds from the sale of items seized from criminals that cannot be returned to their rightful owners.
Matthew Barber said: “The volume and quality of applications received demonstrates the incredible work taking place within our communities to prevent crime and improve public safety.
“The organisations receiving funding are delivering practical projects that make a real difference, whether through trauma-informed support for victims of crime, enhanced mentoring opportunities for young people, or initiatives to tackle anti-social behaviour, including the installation of CCTV cameras.
“I am pleased that we are able to invest in these projects and support the dedicated organisations helping to build stronger and safer communities across the Thames Valley.”
Successful recipients have been invited to attend a presentation event, hosted by the Police & Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable, in Milton Keynes on Thursday 26th November 2026.
